OK – firstly I must apologise for not posting for freakin’ ages.Β  For those of you who follow the blog, you might remember that I was frantically tidying up the house for the impending arrival of said folks. Well, them folks have been here for a week now and its been lovely so far. They are totally in love with Baby C and take her off my every chance they get (handy especially as she is weighing a ton now hahaha!! my baby, not my mum that is heehee)Β  πŸ™‚

I haven’t really had much time to do my shred as the only real time I get to do it is if I wake up really early in the morning, and my mum – I swear she doesn’t sleep – I woke up at 7am this morning to sneak a shredding session in and there she was, happy as Larry, sitting on the sofa smiling like the joker. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β  There was no way I was going to do the shred in front of her – me, fumbling around doing bloody side planks = a total comedy. Luckily for me, they went out walking so I did a session. I must admit, my muscles ache a little now, I guess its because i’ve not done it for a few days. Note to self: Wake up at 6am tomorrow morning and do said shred. πŸ™‚

The weight is slowly falling off and I’m quite impressed with it so far – 9 more days and I’ll be done with it. Which reminds me, I was testing out the new breakthrough in stretch-mark repair by remescar – I must take a picture and see if there is any difference. Look out for that post soon!

Well Well WELL. I’m on the first day of level 3 today AND if I’m being honest, its not as scary as I thought it would be. I mean, the jumping bits with the dumbbells are hard work, but after a while, your arms are so numb, you actually don’t feel anything. I didn’t do the shred yesterday as Baby C is going through a sleep regression which means A: I’m not sleeping much and B: She’s cranky all day long; leaving me no time to even fart.Β  I only have 9 more days of this and then that’s it. Over. No more shredding. Rock hard abs – here I come. *rubs hands in glee* πŸ™‚

So mum and dad are flying down this weekend – and yes, the house is still in a tip. Ive been sneaking in a tidy up of the garage everytime Baby C naps (which isn’t very often) so the garage is looking marginally better (instead of a big bomb going off in the garage, it resembles a little one at the moment) We have to go to the tip to get rid of a truckload of rubbish – stuff that’s just been sitting int he garage for 7 years – yes, both me and the other half are hoarders. Old car door? Tick. Cabinet cupboards with mis-matching handles? You betcha. Ginormous spiders that look that they’ve been bred on mars? You have to see them to believe it.

We recently bought a Rainforest Jumperoo for Baby C – I mean, the amount of stuff you accumulate when you have a baby is amazing. I mean – my living room is just filled with playmats, toys, and now this jumperoo thing – which actually frightens me a little, I mean, you jump and suddenly there are jungle noises that comes out of the monkey. And I swear that tiger is giving me the evils. How much did I pay for this – a whopping Β£76.45. Having a baby makes you go a little wonky I think and all sense of what’s normal just flies out the window.

OK – the baby is down – time for me to tackle the garage – fun fun fun!! Bet you wish you were me.

Oh My. Could it be true? My weight this morning was a (wait for it…..) 52.8kg. I mean, could the shred be actually working? I mean, I’m still eating all sorts of rubbish still and I’m sat here drinking a small of bubbly, while I wait for a delicious serving of spaghetti bolognese made by the lovely husband. Now that is going to shoot my calorie count through the roof all the way up to mars. I don’t feel any lighter, nor do I see it, but unless my weighing scales are wrong – somethings working. Could the shred actually be doing something? I don’t know – I’ve always hated excising – I find it mind-numbingly boring. Anyway – one more day and I’m on the final day of level 2. You know what that mean – that’s right.. one more day till the start of Level 3, and then 10 days of that and ITS OVER! Goodbye Jillian. Goodbye bleeding plank-jacks. Goodbye miserable squat-lunge-wierd-thing! πŸ™‚

It has been actually steaming hot here in London these past two days – and I mean STEAMING – how steaming? Try 30deg steaming. Baby C has been hanging out in just her nappies, which is very cute, but along with this freakishly warm weather, come the annoying mosquitoes, so I’m trying to kill them while simultaneously keeping and eye on her little body *cue hand swats and karate kicks on unseen mosquitoes*

Mum and dad are coming down next Friday and I am freaking out. The house is in a state, my hair is in a mess (I can categorically state that I know for a fact my hair will still be mess next friday) and the garage is practically a tip. My mum is a cleaner, and I would hate for her to come visit me just to clean – and I know she will. There just isn’t enough time in the day for me to clean poos, attend strange rhymathons in the park (yes, they do exist, and yes, adults actually do the hokey-cokey in full view of everyone) and clean. Grrrrrrrr. πŸ™

Anyhow, I have to run off now, but I am most excited to announce….. that I will be doing a review on Urban Decays Naked foundation tomorrow. Ahhh, its the little things that excite me still. Good times! πŸ˜‰

Right – so I got up early to do my shred this morning. Doing it in the afternoon just kills me PLUS baby C is often crankier then anyway. Today, the shred is alot more manageable, though I must admit I’m still following the Anita version (for those who don’t shred, Anita does modified versions of the exercises – basically for people like me who are totally out of shape). Only 2 more days to go and then level 3. Am I scared? Of course I am – I value the use of my limbs and something tells me its going to be crazy-hard. OK OK, I peeked at the next level today and that’s how I know its crazy. But, I seek comfort in knowing that its going to be over very soon *gets down on knees and prays* πŸ™‚ I also did 30 seconds (seemed like an eternity though!) of the dolphin plank – apparently this will help banish the mummy-tummy. *prays doubly hard* πŸ™‚

I guess you have gathered that I didn’t go out today for my colleagues goodbye lunch – there was no way I would make it in time, Baby C woke up late and I was up from 6am (I have no idea why we didn’t shut the blinds last night, mr sun was not kind to me at all this am) . I mean, I think is still considered rude to turn up to a lunch and doze off during the starters – I mean, things may have changed but how would I know – I never get out of the house anymore. Except to Waitrose if we run out of milk (tea without milk is just a no-no and just so wrong).

And so here I am, sat down, with a packet of crisps. That’s right. You heard me. A PACKET OF CRISPS. My thighs have eased up on the hurting-from-hell a little and so I’ve rewarded myself with crisps. Just 3 more days to go until I embark on the third and final level. Tres’ exciting. I mean, theres so much I have to think about – will sports illustrated call me and give me their cover page? Will Victoria Secret come a-knocking? Will the Daily Mail run an article on ‘super-mum achieves 6-pack while juggling baby, household and two crazy doggies? Hahahaha. Who knows? Day-dreaming is fun though πŸ™‚

Today Baby C has been cranky all day long – hence the late post about my shred, I could only manage to do it after she went down for a grand half an hour just now. I’m feeling a little happier with my body today, I caught sight of myself as I emerged looking like a wet dog from the shower (being a mum now I find I have zero minutes to dry my hair) and I think, *I think* fingers crossed, I’m looking a little more toned. Could it be my eyes playing up? Absolutely, but I would like to think the shredding is working, and if it isn’t, I’m suing Jillian (then it’ll be her turn to feel the deep deep burn!!)

Tomorrow we have been invited to go into town as a colleague is leaving to have her second baby – I’m at odds as to whether we should. On the one had, I’m dangerously close to being a hermit with mold on her as I never go out, on the other hand, it’s such a operation to go out that I’m wondering for 4 hours if it’s really worth my worry (baby C being kidnapped, us disappearing into the Bermuda triangle etc). We’ll see – ill see what the husband says.

Ughhh – another post I’m dying to do is on Bare Minerals mineral foundation, which I bought last year but have yet to try out. Tomorrow (IF) I go out, I could potentially try it out there I guess. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. To go or not to go, that is the question… #firstworldcountryproblems eh πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Right – dinner now, apparently (according to the husband) packets of crisps does not constitute dinner *rolls eyes* Whatever – try eating 5 packets – bet you’ll be full and wont need dinner! Plus, the crisps do say flame grilled steak… hahahhaha! πŸ™‚

So – I took the day off yesterday from shredding, it being the world cup finals and all. And what did I do? I ate cake. I ate bread and I ate baklava. Oh yes – I ate for queen and country and this morning while doing my shred I paid for it BIG time. My thighs have become more sore, my arms are about to drop off and my heels (yes, you read right – my heels) are hurting from digging into the carpet. A twitter friend of mine suggested using shoes while doing plank-jacking – but that didn’t ease my 20 minutes of hell one bit. I think the God of shred is angry at me and hence punishing me for skipping two days worth. πŸ™

Anyway, my mum and dad are flying down to see me next Friday and I was so sure I would have finished my 30 days by then but now I think I won’t be. The last thing I need is my mum seeing me looking like a crazy woman jumping around in my living room. I don not need her thinking I’m madder than I already am – maybe ill just have to do the shred in my garage. Oh no, that would mean I have to tidy out the garage. Arghhh! the problems one has to endure in life!!

I was hoping to embark on a healthy fish week this week – but the husband has just reminded me that he’s bought a huge leg of lamb that has to be cooked tonight. I swear he’s trying to fatten me up – why I do not know. Here I am trying to shift this stubborn 4kg off me, and there he is buying enough lamb to feed a small village and then some. Might do my fish-week next week so look out for that.

Lately I’ve been quite distracted with the way things are panning out in our lives. I’m torn between putting all my effort in helping him with his business and expanding, and really putting effort into blogging (on top of looking after baby C of course). He says only one of these could bring in revenue – the problem is, the other one takes me away from all the craziness that revolves around baby poo and housework. I did tell him I would work on his website, but I’m finding it increasingly hard to find enough time in the day. I hope to God that baby C finds a routine soon (PLEASE GOD OF NAP LET HER NAP IN THE AFTERNOONS), so I can get a free more hours to do other stuff in the day.

Well, she’s been down for about a half hour now, and in that time, I have got to;

  • eat lunch
  • hang the nappies out
  • put a new wash load in
  • look for UK-only holiday destinations (no passport for baby C yet so NY is out until then!)
  • Send off for Baby C’s passport SO we can go to NY
  • do a post for Jane Iredale’s mineral make-up

First let me apologize for the picture. I am in no way auditioning to be a bra model, it’s just after my shred, I was so sweaty that I just whipped off my top and got the better half to quickly take pictures before the natural light disappeared. I didn’t even think that I was (almost) topless and by the time I was writing this post, the sun had gone down and so no more natural light for me. Basically, I apologize I’m half bloody naked.

Right, I took a day off the shred yesterday as my thighs were just killing me to the point where I thought if I did one more bloody squat-jump thing, my entire leg might drop off. And so, in the interest of continuation, I decided I needed a day off. Back to day 15 today, and, oh yes, my thighs are still so sore. Still – I’m halfway there and that’s all I’m thinking of. Well, that and my poor thighs. Hahaha πŸ™‚

We went to the park today, it was a lovely day outside, sort of sunny, but not so sunny that you would get a sunburn. There were like millions of people in the park and navigating a pram with the biggest wheels on earth AND two dogs who decided that they simply must walk in different directions was fun to say the least.

Home now and trying to start a bedtime routine with baby C – lest the midwife make me feel like I’m the worse mother on earth because I still don’t have any sort of routine/schedule with baby C. Oh we’ll, we can all but try.

Recently, Ive read alot about ‘CC’ creams.Β  What on earth are these and are they worth the money spent on them? Does anyone have and recommendations of ones they’ve tried?

Arghhhhh – my thighs. MY THIGHS! My god-damn THIGHS! Today is the 4th day of level 2 and my thighs have never felt worse. I think those jumping squat things are really digging into my body and yanking out every gut-wrenching sweat gland there is to be had from me. I can’t really walk up the stairs without grimacing so I’ve decided to reside downstairs for a while (try a day maybe!!) However, when I do get hungry (which I will eventually will sometime) I guess I will have to crawl up the stairs. And when I do, you can be sure the other half will hear about it.

I’m starting to get a little concerned – I don’t actually see any difference in my flabby bits – and I’m almost halfway there.Β  Should I be seeing any difference? Or should I just wait till the end of day 30 to really see? Grrrrrr. πŸ™

Baby C didn’t have the best night. We decided to try out some sort of routine with her, you know, the whole going to bed at 1am at 3 months old just isn’t working out. We bathed her at 8pm and put her down – by 9pm, she was still awake and I was missing the semi-finals of the world cup. she finally drifted off at 9.45pm – right on the half-time clock so that was alright. She stirred a few times, but drifted back off, which was great. After the match, we both went upstairs where we changed her and settled down ourselves and by 1am, we were all asleep. Or so I thought. She decided to get up at 3am, 5am and 7am for boob-juice. Oh yes. I am a walking zombie today. I don;t know if the routine we did threw her off but we’ll be trying it again tonight. That’s right baby C, mummy and daddy are taking their nights back!

I am off to have a quick shower and then do some hula-hooping, though I doubt I’ll get that far, I’m sure I’ll be needed to whip a boob out sometime soon!

PP/S: Zara’s summer sale is on NOW! I do love Zara – they have the perfect blend of gorgeous well made clothes that tailor to just about every eccentric taste – boho chic to suited and booted, they have something for every occasion and they are always bang on trend. Since being a mum, most of my shopping now centers around Baby C and I LOVE that Zara has a kids sections!Β  I got this and this for my niece, and this and similar to this for Baby C (I bought a printed one but they seem to have run out). I also bought this pair of sandals for myself here – perfect for summer!

Ouch Ouch Ouch. Today the shred is getting me in my thighs, I swear those jumping things on the floor (apparently squat thrusts according to the better half) are k-i-l-l-i-n-g me. I really hope to God this is going to work if not, my thighs will never ever forgive me. I am happy with the change in measurements so far – even if I can’t physically see it myself. I mean, unless my measuring tape has got special shrinking powers, the inches are slowly coming off. I’m almost half way there – only 17 more days to go!

Today the other half asked me ‘what I was going to do with my time off’. Errrrrr, its not time off darling, its looking after your child time-off. Nevertheless, I get where he’s coming from. I’m so lucky that my company is brilliant enough to give me the whole year off, so while I have the year off, I should do something (while watching the baby of course). I was thinking of writing a few children’s books. I mean, I don’t know how good I’ll be at them, and if anyone will actually buy into my ideas, but It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while, so it might be exciting.

Off to feed Baby C now. I’m going to be doing a post about ripped jeans soon – seeing as how everyone is wearing them nowadays!

I am astounded for two reasons. 1: For some reason, my waist has shrunk 1 inch ans my thighs are now bordering on 21 inches. 2: Baby C has decided she was going to nap this afternoon leaving me time to post this early. If I’m really lucky – I might even manage a review on Dior Show’s mascara! I don’t see the difference myself in the pictures or in real life – but the measuring tape doesn’t lie I guess! TO celebrate, I shall eat a snickers bar later!

The other half and I have been getting up a little later these past two days – me because Baby C has decided she wants to wake up a few times in the wee hours of the morning to have a bit of boob-juice, and the other-half has been feeling under the weather a little.Β  Truth be told, he’s feeling a little under motivated these past few days and I guess when you work for yourself, there are periods when nothing happens. He doesn’t seem too worried about it (yet) but I think if he doesn’t get work soon he might get stir crazy at home. The problem with what he does (financial trainer) is that its such a niche subject and not many people know that there are trainers out there, so its quite hard to look for new clients. I did say that when I go on maternity leave I would help him develop the business a little – problem is, I have no clue where to start either. Anyway, I’ll figure something out.

Right – its almost 4pm and I havent had a cup to tea – SacrΓ© Bleu! I’ll be back with my post on the new fancy-pants mascara I’ve got. Wait for that!
