Taking a break from my Lake District updates – today I decided to do a review about my new foundation which I acquired while shopping at boots with the GLS on Tuesday – an impulse buy I hear you ask? Most definitely! This impulse buy however – I have no regrets about (PLUS – I got double points on my boots card AND had the special deal where you get £7.50 put on your card on top of that!)
The truth is – we were walking around boots looking for something for an aunt back home and the lovey lady at the Chanel counter dragged me to the Chanel hot seat and insisted I do a colour match for their foundation. Who was I to turn this magnificent offer down!? I knew however that if I liked it enough, I would buy it and that I did. *cosmetic addition ON* 🙂
This foundation has got to be the nicest smelling one I have – I don’t know if its intentionally perfumed but it sure does smell good. Its infused with SPF 10 too, and in this crazy heat wave that London is experiencing – we need all the protection we can get. Its a matt finish and is so easy to put on – not runny nor too thick. It is a long wear foundation and 11 hours later – my skin is non-oily (just 1 blot sheet used see below) and virtually flawless and still well covered. Cover is medium to full buildable – but I didn’t use too much and still achieved full coverage pretty quickly – I didn’t even need concealer! *gasp* 🙂
One of the great things about this foundation is that it does not oxidise on you (making your skin appear darker than what it really is) after wearing it.
The only drawback is the cost – as with all Chanel offerings, this is no different and comes with a hefty price tag – £36.00. Still not as expensive as the Dior Capture Total (which is not very good at all).
If you had the dosh to splash on just one foundation this summer that was high end – I would recommend this. If not, check out Make-Up Forever HD’s foundation – its sort of high end, brilliant to use and comes in slightly cheaper than this baby.
Get it here online if you can’t pop by a counter.
