I have been using MAC products since I was 15, I would save my dinner money and once a month, would make my way down to the MAC shop in town to see what my monies could get me. Normally a gloss or lippie, though sometimes I got powder. When I started working part time, (not in the MAC shop of course) i spent a little bit more on make-up and instead of paying to go to make up artist school, I used to pay about £40 and that would get me a total make-over with a MAC artist, and that money later would then be totally redeemable on product –so everyone was a winner! Slowly, I experimented with liquid foundations – till this point, I was using just powder foundation. Blending was the hardest skill to master, I can’t tell you how many times I went out and my mum would comment I had a streaky face. Thanks mum. Anyway, after a many (many many many) times, I got it right and found the right colour for my skin tone. I must admit, I picked up this foundation by mistake – I was actually after ye old faithful Studio Fix Fluid when I picked up her nifty little twin.
The packaging is identical, and me being me, didn’t bother reading the bottle. Anyway, got home and the next day realised me mistake – oh well, how different could it be right? WRONG. The first thing you notice about this foundation (if you are used to Studio Fix Fluid of course) is how light and watery this foundation is – though it does say its water based of course. The coverage is stated as medium, and as I have scars from IPL treatments gone wrong and pimple scars (yes, my skin is awful without make-up) , this didn’t really help cover them – I had to use concealor on top of this foundation – which I felt made my face a little heavy. If you’re after maximum coverage – look away now! I applied a few layers of this foundation to see if it could be built up, but after 3 rounds, decided to brave it and hope for the best. At the end of the day, it did appear that parts of my face was patchy in some places where it had worn off – something I’ve never experienced with Studio Fix. If you’ve got flawless skin, no scars or marks like me, and want that light, looks like you’ve got nothing on feeling on your face, this is perfect for you; it wasn’t for me though sadly.
