Name: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
Where : Boots, Tesco, Superdrug, Online
We were sitting down one evening watching something or other on telly when the adverts came up, and instead of bolting up to the bathroom, or getting a drink, we both just sat there like a couple of couch potatoes, wishing the other would get up. That didn’t happen. What did happen was a Maybelline advert popped up on the telly, and it was about how their dream matt mousse was the winner of the the blah blah blah, best in this and best in that, everyone has one – you catch my drift. The better half looked at me and asked if I had tried that one before, seeing as how it was an award winner. It was then that I realized that he was listening when I told him I was serious about writing a review website, so +1 point for him!
The very next morning, I made my way down to boots and bought my dream matte mousse foundation. It came in a nifty little glass pot, and It was my first furor into this new world of ‘mousse foundation’ – exciting stuff! Tried it on the next morning and im not sure if this is one of my favourites unfortunately. Was it dreamy? Not really. Mousse-y? Yes for definite. Matte? A little, but not enough. I would imagine anyone with oily skin would struggle with this – believe me, I have oily skin, I know. I smoothed it over my face and after all was said and done, found the foundation to be quite patchy in places. It does need powder to ‘lock in’. Because of its texture and the amount you have to use to get that full, fawless matt coverage you want, I fear that the pot won’t last too long – I personally would spend a little more money to get a liquid foundation. I guess mousse and me just don’t mix. I wouldn’t buy this again. 🙁
Get it here online if you can’t pop on down to the shop.
