Today is black Wednesday. Why? No, not because I have work crawling out of my ears and I am sure to miss my deadlines. No, not because once again, the weather in London has gone bonkers and after a week in glorious sunshine, its not turned to shit (again) And no, its not because I fell asleep on the sofa and as a result have a bad back either (thank you so called-better half for waking me up NOT).
NO. Something far worse has happened. The most decorated manager of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson, head honcho at Premier League 2013 Champions Manchester United, has decided to step down. This man, in terms of footballing managers, is as close to a God as you can get, in fact, he is probably God in disguise. This man bleeds Manchester United blood. Countless trophies he has won for the club he loves so much – something no other manager will ever do. Have a look below;

No one can beat, or come even close to kissing the ground this man walks on, never mind following in his footsteps. What’s the big deal you say? The big deal is no one can ever fill his shoes, no one can ever achieve what he has, and no one will – not through lack of trying, but through lack of just sheer magic that he had in spades. The man was a genius, and no one comes close to him period.
So, Sir Alex. We thank you for bringing us the trophy once again this season, and for your 27 years of dedication, your passion for the love of the game and the club, your chewing of gum on the sidelines without fail, and for your pure magic. You made Manchester United what it is today – a world-class club with a glittering trophy cabinet. We salute your genius and pray for your successor – yours will be an impossible act to follow – and I for one will not want to be one to fill it. This is an end of a glittering era – one we will never see replicated – sad times. 🙁
Thank you and goodbye Sir Alex. We owe you big time.
Your fellow Manchester United supporter (who is very sad),
P/S: Sir Alex, if you hate gardening and all the other weird stuff associated with retiring (eg: pottery making, nature walks, traveling etc etc ) PLEASE COME BACK. We will fire whoever is chosen to replace you (they weren’t that good anyway).
